Green Offices program
We believe that as a company we should contribute to a greener environment. Next to providing high quality consulting and recruitment services we actively search ways to prevent and decrease the negative effects of our processes on the environment. We also stress the importance that our employees understand the significance of the environmental aspects of our work and participate actively in the Green Office initiative.
For this reason we have started a program for making our offices greener. In the beginning of 2008 we have joined KÖVET as a member company and participated in the Green Office Program and Competition.
Successes so far:
- We only print on recycled paper.
- We have reduced our paper usage by working on more processes electronically.
- Our representative company materials (envelopes, letter paper, greeting cards and name cards) are printing on recycled paper with environmentally friendly inks at an environmentally certified printing company.
- We provide bike storage for our employees.
- Our environmental and human values are represented in our ISO documentation.
- We use energy saving modes when possible on our computers and electronic devices.
Further goals:
- To implement separate waste collection with the help of HUMUSZ
- Reduce our energy usage further
ProfiPower joined several big companies (IBM. Holcim Hungaria, Ernst and Young, Raiffeisen Bank, MOL, Magyar Telekom, OD Partner) at HBLF and supports a gipsy student in Putnok. We support by giving a fix monthly amount.
HBLF’s Equal Opportunity Target Group has launched in 2007 the Romaster Program – an education and talent support program for socially disadvantaged roma students. The program aims to help roma by providing long term support (4-6 years).
The 3 main parts of the program are: 1. financial educational support, 2. personal contact with the supporting company (mentoring), 3. possible work experience (internship, summer work, etc.).
Heim Pál Children’s Hospital
ProfiPower joined the Netherlands-Hungarian Chamber of Commerce in its initiative to support the Heim Pál Children’s Hospital (Department of Toxicology). Last year the chamber has been able to collect 1,365,000 HUF.
Orphan Children
Every Christmas time we contribute gifts to an orphanage.
Habitat for Humanity
Habitat for Humanity (HFH) is a non-profit, nondenominational housing organization. They are seeking to eliminate poverty housing and homelessness worldwide and to make decent shelter for everybody a matter of conscience and action. Since its founding in 1976, HFH has helped more than 900,000 people worldwide to have a decent and affordable place to live.
Through donations of volunteer labour, money and materials, and with the cooperation of the future homeowner (partner) families, Habitat for Humanity builds and renovates homes in an inexpensive way. The homes are then sold to the partner families at no profit, financed with affordable loans. The homeowner's monthly mortgage payments, accompanied by the funds raised, go into a revolving fund that is used to build more houses. In 2006 ProfiPower participated in the project to build a house in Szarvas.
Autifarm
ProfiPower joined the Netherlands-Hungarian Chamber of Commerce in its initiative to support the Autifarm, the home and workplace of autistic children and young adults.
Autifarm is the residential and occupational farm program in Csókakő, which established the execution of the professional rehabilitative residential and occupational country model.
